A travelling dinner through the alleys of the ancient village of Grottammare
Every late summer, the Old Hamlet of Grottammare, the picturesque medieval village perched above the Riviera delle Palme, in the province of Ascoli Piceno (Marche), transforms into a large open-air restaurant. Golosevie - Delizie in cammino (Delights on the go) is a travelling dinner that invites you to explore the alleys, stairways, and small squares of the historic centre, following an itinerary of taste, wine, and views of the Adriatic Sea.
The formula is simple and charming: nine stops spread throughout the most evocative locations and spots in the village, each with a different dish accompanied by a glass of wine, a liqueur, or coffee. It's not just a tasting, but a real dinner divided into several courses, to be enjoyed while walking from one alley to another. Participants can choose between two routes: the traditional one, dedicated to the flavours of Marche cuisine, and the vegetarian one, designed for those who prefer options without meat or fish. The choice can be made from stop to stop, allowing you to build your own tailor-made menu.
The charm of Golosevie lies entirely in its setting. The Old Hamlet is one of the most beautiful villages on the Marche coast, with its stone houses, walls, the Teatro dell'Arancio (Orange Theatre), and belvederes overlooking the Adriatic. Walking through the alleys as evening falls, stopping at each stage, allows you to experience the historic centre of Grottammare in a slow, convivial way, far from the hustle and bustle of the seafront. It's an experience that combines food and wine, heritage discovery, and socialising.
The event is promoted by the Consorzio Vecchio Incasato Grottammare (Old Hamlet Consortium of Grottammare), with the patronage of the City of Grottammare, and involves restaurateurs, businesses, and local organisations. Part of the Municipality of Grottammare's rich summer calendar, Golosevie is now an eagerly awaited end-of-season event, attracting residents and tourists on the last Sundays of summer. For visitors, it's also the perfect opportunity to discover the typical products of the Marche region and the historic village in a single evening.
The 2026 edition of Golosevie is confirmed within the summer calendar of the Municipality of Grottammare, which runs from June to September 20, 2026. The travelling dinner in the Old Hamlet is scheduled for September, organised as usual over three Sunday evenings.
The details of the dates and the menu for the nine stops have not yet been published at the time of writing. Based on previous editions, the route takes place starting in the evening, with the option to choose between traditional and vegetarian offerings along all nine stops of the village. The complete programme will be communicated by the Consorzio Vecchio Incasato Grottammare and the Municipality in the weeks leading up to the event.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition (exact dates of the three Sundays, menu for the nine stops, and pairings) will be announced by the Consorzio Vecchio Incasato Grottammare shortly before the event, expected in September.
Usual structure of the event, as documented in previous editions:
The evening stroll through the alleys of the medieval village with views of the Adriatic, the nine-stop format, and the double route option (traditional or vegetarian) remain the distinctive features expected for 2026.
Grottammare is located along the Adriatic coast of the Marche region, in the province of Ascoli Piceno. By train: Grottammare station on the Bologna-Bari/Lecce Adriatic line, a few minutes from the centre. By car: A14 motorway, Grottammare exit. The Old Hamlet can be reached on foot by walking up from the centre or the seafront.
A single ticket of approximately 35 euros (reference to the previous edition), valid for both the traditional and vegetarian routes, includes the nine dishes with their respective pairings. Purchase can be made at participating establishments in the village (such as Osteria dell'Arancio in Piazza Peretti and La Cantina di Sant'Agostino) or at the entrance to the route in Via Palmaroli during the event.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking through the alleys and stairways of the village. Check the updated dates and procedures on the Municipality of Grottammare website before you travel.
