Edition 2025 — Goblets and Traditions in the Village

The first edition of Goblets and Traditions in the Village took place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the Porta Gabella area of Ripa Teatina. An evening dedicated to Abruzzo wine featuring a guided walk through the alleys, a symposium with agronomists, sommeliers, and writers, and tastings curated by AIS sommeliers, accompanied by traditional local dishes like sagne e ceci and porchetta.

The first edition

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Porta Gabella area, the historic heart of Ripa Teatina (Chieti), hosted the first edition of Goblets and Traditions in the Village, dedicated to the wine and traditions of Abruzzo.

The program opened at 6:00 PM with a guided walk through the town center, accompanied by stories about wine. At 7:00 PM, the symposium "Wine: Secrets, Flavors, and Traditions" took place, featuring agronomist Maurizio Odoardi on Abruzzo grape varieties, sommelier Alberta Orlandi on food and wine pairings, and writer David Ferrante on wine customs and symbolism in Abruzzo, moderated by food and wine expert Gianluca Marchesani. At 8:30 PM, tastings guided by AIS sommeliers began.

Wines from seven local wineries were available for tasting: Torre Zambra, Cascina del Colle, Collefrisio, Cantine Radica, Pasetti, Fantini, and Novaripa. The food was prepared by chef Andrea Mangifesta (sagne e ceci, porchetta), with boards of local products provided by the La Piccola Teatina wine bar. Tickets cost 10 euros (3 tasting tickets) or 12 euros (3 tickets plus a wine glass), with free access to the area.
