A night of immersive art in the historic center of Ginosa
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
GiRi d'Arte is the cultural event that lights up the historic center of Ginosa every summer, a village in the province of Taranto overlooking the ravines of the Ionian Puglia region. For one August evening, the ancient streets of the town turn into an open-air gallery: the public is invited to take a true tour of the arts, wandering from alley to alley to discover works, performances, and flavors.
The hallmark of the event is the fusion of different creative languages. Along the route, you will encounter painting, sculpture, photography, and artistic installations, as well as live entertainment moments that bring the squares and open spaces of the historic center to life.
The true protagonist of GiRi d'Arte is the historic center of Ginosa, a maze of alleys, stairs, and houses carved into the rock that slopes down toward the ravine. In this evocative setting, contemporary art engages with traditional architecture and the village's memory, creating an immersive experience where the public literally walks inside the exhibition.
Born as an initiative to promote local heritage, the event has grown over the years to become one of the most anticipated summer appointments in the Municipality of Ginosa. GiRi d'Arte combines the promotion of local artists with the welcoming of creators from outside the region, in a festive atmosphere that involves both residents and visitors. Admission is free, in keeping with the event's popular and participatory vocation.
For those visiting the Ionian coast of Puglia in summer, GiRi d'Arte is the perfect opportunity to discover Ginosa in a special light: a night when the village dresses up in art, local gastronomy meets live music, and the historic center pulses with life until late at night.
At the moment, no official dates or program have been released for the 2026 edition of GiRi d'Arte. Based on previous editions, the event is expected in the month of August, in the historic center of Ginosa (province of Taranto, Puglia). This page will be updated as soon as the organizers publish the calendar and event details.
Ginosa is located in the western part of the province of Taranto, on the border with Basilicata. By car, it can be reached via the SS106 Jonica (Ginosa/Marina di Ginosa exit) or the SS7 via Matera. The Ginosa train station is served by the Taranto-Metaponto line; the historic center is a few kilometers from the station.
The event is free to attend and takes place in the evening and at night along the streets of the historic center. The route is pedestrian-only: we recommend wearing comfortable shoes to navigate the alleys and staircases.
For accommodation, there are facilities in Ginosa, Marina di Ginosa, and nearby villages. The exact dates and the program for each edition are usually announced on the social media channels of the Municipality and local associations in the weeks leading up to the event.
