About Giarre Montesalice Milo Hill Climb

The Giarre Montesalice Milo Hill Climb is one of the most technical and spectacular uphill races in the Sicilian and Southern Italian motorsport scene. Named in memory of Isidoro Di Grazia, the 6.4 km course climbs from the town of Giarre to the village of Milo, passing through the territory of Santa Venerina on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna. As a round of the Italian Mountain Speed Championship (Southern Zone), it attracts over 150 drivers and thousands of fans to the province of Catania every year.

The Etna Hill Climb

The Giarre Montesalice Milo Hill Climb is one of the most prestigious and long-standing automotive competitions in Sicily and Southern Italy. Organized by the Automobile Club Acireale in collaboration with Scuderia Giarre Corse, the event is dedicated to the memory of Isidoro Di Grazia, a historic figure in Etna's motorsport scene. It takes place within the municipality of Giarre, in the province of Catania, and also involves the municipalities of Santa Venerina and Milo.

One of the South's most technical tracks

The race is held on a 6.4-kilometer course along the provincial road connecting Giarre to Milo, featuring a total elevation gain of approximately 473 meters and an average gradient of around 7.4%. The track winds through the territories of three municipalities—Giarre, Santa Venerina, and Milo—climbing through hairpin bends and fast curves on the eastern slope of Mount Etna, set against a unique backdrop suspended between the Ionian Sea and volcanic landscapes.

A challenge of the Italian Mountain Speed Championship

The Giarre Montesalice Milo Hill Climb is a valid round of the Italian Mountain Speed Championship - Southern Zone (CIVM Sud) and gathers a large group of drivers every year, including prototypes, sports cars, and touring cars. However, the organizers set up a giant screen in Piazza Belvedere in Milo, where fans can watch all stages of the event live. The race is also broadcast on the Naxos Pro Racing YouTube channel and on Etna Channel (digital terrestrial channel 199), allowing you to follow the event from home.
