Giana Anguissola Literary Evenings

The XVII edition of the Giana Anguissola Literary Evenings enlivens the summer in Travo from June 18 to August 29, 2026, with 19 free evening events, mostly held in the Piazzetta dell'Asilo at the foot of the castle tower.

The series celebrates the 120th anniversary of the birth of Giana Anguissola with a program that alternates fiction, essays, local history, music, and theater. Opening on June 18 with Estetica della misura by Enzo Latronico; on June 19 and 20, two evenings in memory of the author. Among the protagonists of the following weeks are Italian authors and communicators, a double bass quartet concert, and the family performance Il giardino del gigante. Grand finale on August 29 with the awards ceremony for the national literary competition.

Where

The events are mainly held in the Piazzetta dell'Asilo in Travo (PC), at the foot of the castle tower. Some events take place in different locations in the area, such as the Azienda Agricola Il Poggiarello (Scrivellano di Statto) and the Teatro Organico (Termine Grosso).

How to get there

Travo is located in Val Trebbia, about 30 km south of Piacenza. It can be reached by car via the SS45 of Val Trebbia. The nearest train station is Piacenza, which is then connected to the village by bus.

Events generally start at 9:15 PM (some at an earlier evening time). Admission is free.
