The Castle of the Seventy Ghosts

The Ghost Festival originates from the most famous legend of Maccastorna, a small village in the Lodi area: the one that claims its castle is inhabited by seventy ghosts. The story dates back to a bloody event in 1406 when, according to tradition, Carlo Cavalcabò and his brothers were massacred in the castle by Cabrino Fondulo, who wished to become lord of Cremona.
