Edition 2025 — Gargano Transhumance

The third edition of the Gargano Transhumance Festival took place on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, at Masseria U Sculér, in the Gamba d'Oro area of Vico del Gargano. Hundreds of participants rediscovered the rhythms of rural life among flocks, folk songs, and authentic flavors, featuring a 7 km walk, rustic breakfast, and traditional workshops.

The third edition of the Gargano Transhumance Festival drew hundreds of people on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, at Masseria U Sculér, managed by young breeder Michele Totaro, in the Gamba d'Oro area on the edge of the Foresta Umbra.

After the morning gathering in Vico del Gargano and the shuttle transfer, the transhumance began with a 7 km walk to the farm, where participants were welcomed with a rustic breakfast of goat's milk and bread from Monte Sant'Angelo, followed by the blessing of the animals. The day continued with a demonstration of the ancient art of farriery, goat milking, Podolico caciocavallo cheese-making, botanical walks, and traditional games. After the rustic lunch provided by the iFUN Association, the afternoon was enlivened by music and dancing with local groups, until the evening return to Vico del Gargano.
