About FRAM

In 2026, Rovato acquired a new cultural hub destined to become a landmark for art in Franciacorta: FRAM, Franciacorta Rovato Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. Inaugurated in the town's market area, the museum originates from the collection amassed over half a century by Rovato painter Beppe Bonetti and his wife Angela Maria Zucchetti. Its halls house works by approximately eighty modern and contemporary artists, along with a precious collection of twenty-three pieces by Gerolamo Calca. A permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, a specialized library, and a multimedia room make FRAM a vibrant space where 20th-century and contemporary art converse in the heart of Franciacorta.

A new museum for Franciacorta

In the Municipality of Rovato, in the province of Brescia, FRAM - Franciacorta Rovato Arte Moderna e Contemporanea opened its doors in 2026. This new museum is housed in a recently constructed building in the town's market area. It enriches the cultural offerings of Franciacorta, a region already renowned for its wines and landscapes, which now boasts an important art center.

A Half-Century Collection

The museum is the result of the work of Beppe Bonetti, a painter from Rovato and theorist of Metarationality, along with his wife Angela Maria Zucchetti, a poet and animal rights activist who passed away in 2024. Over more than fifty years of artistic activity, the couple collected works and art fragments acquired through exchanges with international colleagues and artists, which have now found a permanent home in Rovato.

The original core of the museum consists of 23 works by Gerolamo Calca (1878-1957), among the most significant of his output. Surrounding this body of work is a much larger collection, comprising approximately eighty modern and contemporary artists, including painters and sculptors.

More Than Just Exhibitions

FRAM hosts a permanent selection of works by Beppe Bonetti, tracing the main stages of his artistic research, and a space dedicated to temporary exhibitions curated by the Bonetti Zucchetti Foundation, which manages the facility in agreement with the Municipality of Rovato. The museum is complemented by a bookstore, a specialized library with catalogs and publications of the featured artists, an archive for the preservation of more delicate materials, and a multimedia room, designed as a connecting point between the different sections of the exhibition.
