Rovato celebrates its patron saint with a month of festivities around November 4th
In the Municipality of Rovato, in the province of Brescia, November 4th is the most important date in the civic and religious calendar: it is the day of San Carlo Borromeo, the city's patron saint. The celebrations in his honor do not end in a single day but extend for a good part of the month, making November the month of Rovato's festival.
The religious heart of the festival is the solemn Mass celebrated by the Bishop of Brescia in the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. Alongside the liturgical dimension, the civic one takes place: an extraordinary session of the Municipal Council with the conferral of the highest city honors, including the gold medals of the Lion, the highest civic recognition, and homage to the historic commercial activities of the territory.
The festival also has a popular and festive soul. The Luna Park of San Carlo is set up at the Foro Boario, with rides, events, entertainment, and stalls selling typical local products. And throughout November, the city's restaurants offer menus dedicated to Manzo all'Olio De.Co., the signature dish of Rovato's tradition, recognized as a Municipal Designation. A combination of spirituality, civic identity, and gastronomy that tells the soul of the capital of Franciacorta, in Lombardy.
The Patron Saint Festival of San Carlo Borromeo is renewed in Rovato on November 4, 2026, with celebrations extending throughout much of the month.
The program combines the solemn Mass celebrated by the Bishop of Brescia in the church of Santa Maria Assunta, the extraordinary session of the Municipal Council with the conferral of civic honors, the San Carlo Luna Park at the Foro Boario, and the menus dedicated to Manzo all'Olio De.Co. offered by the city's restaurants.
