A concert to save the Pieve

The Concerto per la Pieve (Concert for the Pieve) is the grand finale of the Che meraviglia di Pieve! (What a marvel of a Pieve!) series of events, promoted in Palazzolo sull'Oglio, in the province of Brescia, to support the restoration of the ancient Pieve. The monument, in a state of decay for years, requires urgent intervention to halt deterioration, stop leaks, and save the internal frescoes before they are lost.

Haydn's Missa Cellensis

The heart of the concert is the performance of Franz Joseph Haydn's Missa Cellensis, a majestic work for choir, orchestra, and soloists. On the stage of the Auditorium San Fedele (the ancient Pieve), the Coro Polifonico La Rocchetta Renzo Pagani, conducted by Maestro Davide Bottarelli, gives voice to one of the great sacred compositions in the classical repertoire.

Music and heritage

The entire proceeds from the concert are allocated to the restoration work of the Pieve's roofs and facades. An event that combines great sacred music with the cause of protecting the city's historical heritage, part of the broader program 'Le Meraviglie della Terra del Fiume' (The Wonders of the River Land). The evening thus becomes not only a high-profile cultural event but also a concrete gesture by the community of Palazzolo to defend a piece of its history.
