The forest as a story
Legno in Fabula. Andate nel bosco, andate! is a contemporary art exhibition hosted at the Rocha Magna, the former barracks of the Castle of Palazzolo sull'Oglio, in the province of Brescia. The exhibition path is built around wood, understood as a symbolic and narrative material, with thematic sections that recall the structure of a fairy tale and guide the visitor through the suggestive spaces of the Castle.
Artists and works
The exhibition brings together 27 artists and 42 works, creating a dialogue between Italian and international art. The themes explored are the universal ones of great narrative: memory, identity, myth, the future. Wood, the ultimate living material, becomes a metaphor for the relationship between man and nature, between what was and what will be.
A local project
The initiative stems from the collaboration between the Municipality of Palazzolo sull'Oglio, the association LovOglio, and the Centro Artistico Culturale Palazzolese, with the patronage of the Lombardy Region and the Province of Brescia. The exhibition is part of the "Le Meraviglie della Terra del Fiume" season and represents one of its flagship events, capable of combining the rediscovery of the historical heritage of the Castle with the languages of contemporary art.
Legno in Fabula — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Legno in Fabula. Andate nel bosco, andate! opens on April 18 at 4:30 PM at the Rocha Magna of the Castle of Palazzolo sull'Oglio and remains open until June 7, with free admission. The exhibition brings together 27 artists and 42 works of Italian and international contemporary art, in a thematic section path built like a fairy tale around wood. Promoted by the Municipality, LovOglio, and Centro Artistico Culturale Palazzolese, with the patronage of the Lombardy Region and the Province of Brescia.
