About Paper e Pacchi tuoi

Paper e Pacchi tuoi is the most original Christmas market in East Rome: two twin events hosted at Monk (Tiburtina area) and Roma Smistamento (Portonaccio), dedicated to independent publishing, graphic design, illustration, photography, and handmade crafts. Art prints, posters, zines, artist books, and sustainable projects blend with workshops and talks in a creative atmosphere where Christmas shopping meets artistic research. Free admission.

A creative Christmas in the neighborhoods of East Rome

Paper e Pacchi tuoi - Christmas in East Rome is one of the most original events in the Christmas landscape of Rome, in the Lazio region. Launched in 2023, the event combines two twin markets over a single weekend, hosted in two independent venues in the eastern suburbs of the capital: Paper, set up at Monk Roma on Via Giuseppe Mirri 35 (Tiburtina area), and Pacchi tuoi, hosted at Roma Smistamento on Via Giuseppe Arimondi 3 (Portonaccio). These two neighboring locations, easily reachable on foot from one another, together create an itinerary dedicated to creativity and self-production.

Independent publishing, graphic design, and illustration

The heart of Paper, at Monk, is paper in all its forms: art prints, posters, zines, catalogs, and artist books, with plenty of space for illustration and photography. Graphic design enthusiasts and collectors looking for rare pieces gather around the stalls of independent publishers and illustrators. Every year, the selection brings together experimental publishing houses and self-produced projects from all over Italy.

Craftsmanship and sustainable projects

A short distance away, the spaces of Roma Smistamento host Pacchi tuoi, the side of the event dedicated to small-scale craftsmanship, sustainable self-production, clothing, and more experimental publishing projects, including those linked to the queer universe. Over twenty creative entities offer items designed as gifts that tell a story while supporting micro-enterprises and niche projects.

  • Independent publishing: zines, artist books, graphic design magazines
  • Illustration and photography: prints, posters, catalogs
  • Handmade crafts: ceramics, textiles, design objects
  • Workshops and talks: practical labs and meetings with authors

More than just a market: workshops and meetings

The formula of Paper e Pacchi tuoi goes beyond shopping: throughout its editions, the program has offered self-production workshops (from creating artist books to poster design and Christmas ceramics), talks on visual culture and inclusive design, magazine presentations, and live podcasts. It is an opportunity to meet the authors, discover the behind-the-scenes of publishing projects, and spend a day immersed in the cultural scene of East Rome.

An identity-defining event for East Rome

Promoted by TWM Factory together with the Paper and Roma Smistamento venues, the event has become, in just a few editions, a reference point for the capital's creative community and for those looking for an alternative Christmas, far from the commercial circuits of the city center. Admission is free, and the informal atmosphere makes it suitable for both young people and families.
