A beer festival in the heart of the Walser mountains

The Formazza Beer Party is a major beer festival that transforms the Valdo Festival Area in the municipality of Formazza into a vibrant meeting point for the entire valley every summer. We are in the upper Val Formazza, in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont, at an altitude of over 1,200 meters amidst the peaks of the Lepontine Alps: a setting that is worth the trip alone and makes this evening quite different from any lowland beer festival.

Who organizes the event

The event is promoted by the Sci Club Formazza, one of the most active associations in the valley, with the support of the local Pro Loco. Like many mountain village festivals, the Beer Party was born from the desire to self-finance the association's activities while offering locals and the many summer tourists a chance to gather outdoors, in a spirit of simplicity and good company.

What to expect

The heart of the event is the draft beer, served at the festival area tables, accompanied by cuisine that draws from the gastronomic traditions of the Ossola and Walser regions. There is no shortage of live music, with bands and DJs keeping the evening lively until late, in a tried-and-tested formula that combines good food, toasts, and fun for all ages.
