Over 70 screenings across cinemas, film clubs, and galleries in Genoa's historic centre
FLIGHT – International Film Festival of Genoa is one of the most interesting cinematic events in Liguria. Its unique feature is the choice of venues: not a single large hall, but a network of cinemas, film clubs, and art galleries spread throughout the historic centre and multicultural districts of Genoa, which become spaces for screenings and encounters. A distributed format that invites you to rediscover the city through cinema.
The programme features over seventy screenings, encompassing diverse genres and origins, with a particular focus on independent and international cinema. The festival draws inspiration from cinema's ability to speak directly to emotions, following Ingmar Bergman's famous reflection on the power of film as "dream" and "music".
The novelty of the 2026 edition is the competitive section "Volo in Liguria", dedicated to films connected to the region: settings, stories, directors, or productions that tell the story of the Ligurian territory. A way to promote regional cinema and strengthen the relationship between the festival and its city.
Organised by the Associazione Culturale 28 Dicembre with the patronage of the University of Genoa and the support of city and regional institutions, FLIGHT selects films through the international platform FilmFreeway and awards a prize list each year. It is a festival that combines an international scope with a strong Genoese identity.
The 2026 edition of FLIGHT – International Film Festival of Genoa confirms the distributed format that has characterised previous editions, with over seventy screenings spread across cinemas, film clubs, and art galleries in the historic centre and multicultural districts of the city.
The main novelty is the competitive section "Volo in Liguria", dedicated to films that tell stories about or are linked to the regional territory. The complete programme, catalogue, and awards will be published on the festival's official website.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition (screening schedule, competitive sections, guests) will be published on the official website mostradelcinemagenova.org closer to the event.
The festival venues are located in the historic centre of Genoa, within walking distance of the Genova Brignole and Genova Principe stations and the San Giorgio and De Ferrari metro stops.
The programme, catalogue, and prize list are published on the official website mostradelcinemagenova.org. The dates and detailed programme for the 2026 edition will be announced on the official channels.
