The Fish & Wine Festival is the summer food and wine event hosted by Eataly Rome in its outdoor square at Piazzale XII Ottobre 1492, in the Ostiense district of Rome (Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio). For four consecutive evenings, the outdoor space becomes a true gourmet plaza, featuring seafood street food stalls, wine tasting islands, and a DJ booth that keeps the vibe going until midnight.
The concept is simple and quintessentially Roman: enjoy great food outdoors, informally, with a glass in hand while the city empties out for the holidays. It is not a fish fair or a village festival, but an urban format that brings seafood cuisine to the city center in an informal style, with a selection of producers curated directly by Eataly's buyers.
The cuisine: seafood as street food
The culinary journey blends traditional classics with contemporary reinterpretations. Among the most popular items are the seafood maritozzi, filled on the spot and now a small symbol of the event, as well as lobster rolls, fried seafood, skewers, and made-to-order sushi, featuring seared amberjack nigiri and red tuna belly.

The "wine" heart of the event is a selection of more than thirty labels from wineries in Lazio, Tuscany, Marche, Piedmont, Sicily, Lombardy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Puglia, and Trentino-Alto Adige. Tastings are available by the glass, with producers and staff on hand to share stories about grape varieties and regions: an easy way to explore coastal whites, sparkling wines, and reds from across the peninsula without the formal ritual of a traditional wine fair.
Music, atmosphere, and gaming area
Every evening, a live DJ set accompanies the service, with selections ranging from deep house to rare groove, and contemporary revival to electronic sounds. The atmosphere is that of a summer night among friends: shared tables, low lighting, and a vintage-style billiards area where you can challenge friends between dishes. The formula, designed for the Roman public but also perfect for visitors, works well for both a long aperitif and a full dinner.

From July 9 to 12, 2026, the square at Eataly Rome Ostiense hosted four evenings of festivities dedicated to seafood flavors and Italian wines, from 7:00 PM to midnight. The culinary journey brought together specialized brands and stalls — including Ramè Sushi, George Lobster, Gin Giro, and Lo Stravizio — with offerings such as freshly filled seafood maritozzi, lobster rolls, fried seafood, skewers, shrimp tempura, and seared amberjack nigiri.
On the wine front, over thirty labels were present from wineries across Italy, including Cantine Silvestri, San Giovanni, Celestina Fè, Paolo e Noemia D'Amico, La Torre, Mandrarossa, and Tre Botti, featuring wines from Lazio, Tuscany, Marche, Piedmont, Sicily, Lombardy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Puglia, and Trentino-Alto Adige. The offer was completed by Jas cocktails and beers from the Eataly Bar, as well as a vintage-style billiards area.
Every evening, from 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM, a live DJ set accompanied the public: a Roman summer outdoors, informal and just a few steps from the Piramide metro stop.

By metro: Line B, Piramide stop (a few minutes' walk). By train: Roma Ostiense station, adjacent to the venue, and the Rome-Lido railway. By car: Eataly's internal parking is available, but public transport is recommended on festival nights.
Hours and admission
Evenings generally run from 7:00 PM to midnight, with the cash desks closing half an hour earlier. Admission to the square is free: tokens can be purchased at dedicated desks (1 token = €2) to spend at the stalls. Discounted packages and a complimentary glass of wine for the first guests of each evening are usually available.
