The Reinswald junior race

The FIS National Junior Race Sarentino/Sarntal is a national junior alpine skiing competition included in the international FIS calendar (National Junior Race category) and held on the slopes of the Reinswald - San Martino in Val Sarentino ski area, in the municipality of Sarentino (Sarntal), in the province of Bolzano, within the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The event is organized by Wintersport ASV Bolzano, an association with a long history of hosting competitive races in the area.

The disciplines

The racing program focuses on speed events: men's and women's Super-G races are held, often preceded by timed downhill training sessions. The competitions are valid for FIS points and involve young athletes from Italian regional committees, with South Tyrolean ski clubs at the forefront. The courses are set on demanding slopes that test the technique and courage of junior skiers.

The Reinswald ski area

The Reinswald ski area, nestled on the Pichlberg in the upper Val Sarentino about thirty kilometers from Bolzano, stretches between 1,570 and 2,460 meters above sea level with over 20 kilometers of slopes and full snowmaking coverage. The resort is famous for the Jochpiste, a black run with gradients reaching 58%, which has hosted numerous FIS European Cup races over the years. This competitive pedigree makes Reinswald an ideal stage for youth category races.
