Albenga in bloom

When spring is in full swing, the historic center of Albenga (Province of Savona) dresses up with flowers for Fior d'Albenga, one of the most beloved floral events on the Riviera di Ponente, now in its twenty-third edition in 2026. For an entire month, the squares and alleys of the city of towers host floral installations, markets, and initiatives, transforming the medieval village into a widespread garden.

Fifteen flowerbeds and a theme that changes every year

The heart of the event is the fifteen thematic flowerbeds set up in various points of the historic center — Piazza San Michele, Piazza Rossi, Piazza IV Novembre, Piazza San Domenico — each interpreted according to the year's theme. For 2026 the chosen theme is "The game flourishes", a reflection on how play creates bonds between adults and children and fosters social interaction and cultural growth. Among the new features, the first flowerbed with edible flowers, presented by Tastee.it and Gelateria Perlecó.

Markets, show cooking, and participation

Around the flowerbeds, a program of markets, show cooking, talks, workshops, exhibitions, and tastings animates the historic center for the entire duration of the event. The participatory dimension is not lacking, with the online voting system for the favorite flowerbed managed by the ITIS Galilei institute. The event is coordinated by the Fior d'Albenga Association, chaired by Mariella Gaudenti, with the support of the Municipality and local schools.
