The mountain festival of Grizzo, amidst woods, running races, and folk music
Some festivals have lived in the heart of a community for generations. The Fiesta de la Mont in Grizzo, a hamlet of Montereale Valcellina, is one of them: a historic event, organized by the group «Chei dal Talpa», which every summer transforms a corner of the Val de la Roja into a grand celebration. We are at 700 meters above sea level, in a wonderful setting immersed in greenery and surrounded by woods: a backdrop that alone is worth the trip.
The name leaves no doubt: here, the mountain is the protagonist. One of the most cherished moments is the mountain running race, which tests legs and breath on the valley's trails. Accompanying the festival are the food stalls with traditional dishes: pasta and beans, amatriciana pasta, cotechino, mushrooms with polenta, game stew, sausages, grilled chicken and ribs, fries, and bean salad. Hearty cuisine, as befits a mountain festival.
As evening falls, the Val de la Roja fills with music. The evenings of the Fiesta de la Mont feature concerts and folk groups — in recent editions, the Colovan Brothers, Officina Folk, and Free Sound have performed — to dance and socialize under the stars, in an authentic and familiar atmosphere.
Grizzo is a hamlet of Montereale Valcellina, a municipality that serves as the gateway to Valcellina, a land of woods, gorges, and Lake Barcis. The Fiesta de la Mont is the perfect way to discover this genuine corner of the Pordenone region, where mountain life and conviviality go hand in hand.
In 2026, the group «Chei dal Talpa» will once again host the Fiesta de la Mont in Grizzo, in the evocative setting of Val de la Roja. The festival will maintain its proven formula, with the mountain running race, food stalls, and musical evenings as the pillars of the program.
The exact dates will be announced by the organizers; traditionally, the festival takes place between late July and the first days of August.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the group «Chei dal Talpa» in the coming weeks. Based on previous editions, the festival includes:
