Oderzo's historic summer fair, ten days of celebration since 1233
The Fiere della Maddalena are the quintessential summer event of Oderzo, in the province of Treviso. Their origins date back to 1233, when they were established as a trade fair around the feast day of Mary Magdalene: a rare continuity that makes this event one of the oldest in eastern Veneto.
Today, the Fiere span about ten days in July and transform Piazza Grande and the streets of the centre into a large, widespread stage. The programme combines variety and comedy shows, fashion shows "under the stars", ballroom dancing with an orchestra, dance performances, concerts, the traditional amusement park, and numerous food stalls. Among the regular events are the travelling dinner "Le vie dei goeosèssi", the evening of the Marcia Notturna della Maddalena (Maddalena Night Walk), and the final of the Oderzo Musica d'Estate singing competition.
Alongside the fun, the Fiere maintain a strong community and solidarity dimension, with initiatives promoted by local associations (ACLI, AVIS, and other local organisations). The grand finale is entrusted to the Opitergium Fest, with entertainment, live music, and the fireworks display that concludes the event.
The 2026 edition of the Fiere della Maddalena takes place from July 18th to 28th, with shows every evening in Oderzo's historic centre. It opens on Friday, July 18th, with the Marcia Notturna della Maddalena in Piazza Grande, organised by ACLI. The programme alternates ballroom dancing, variety shows, comedy, fashion shows, dance performances, gastronomy, and the Oderzo Musica d'Estate singing competition, culminating in the grand finale on Monday, July 28th, with the Opitergium Fest and fireworks.
The full programme with all timings will be published in the weeks leading up to the event.
