About San Martino in Fiera

In Castelmassa, in the Alto Polesine area of the province of Rovigo, the Fiera Nazionale di San Martino is an institution: 4 km of stalls along the town's streets, the historic Altopolesano Market Exhibition (MAAC), a funfair, the 'Via dei Sapori Locali' (Street of Local Flavours) and hundreds of exhibitors. Established by imperial decree in 1819, with records dating back to 1765, it is the only fair with a national title in Polesine and in 2026 it will reach its 208th edition.

Two centuries of fair in Polesine

In Castelmassa, a town in Alto Polesine on the border with the provinces of Mantua, Modena, and Ferrara, the Fiera Nazionale di San Martino is the event that draws visitors from three regions every November. Established by imperial decree on May 10, 1819, with market records dating back to 1765, it is the fair with the unique national title in Polesine: in 2026, it will reach its 208th edition.

Four kilometres of stalls

For four days, the town centre transforms into a large exhibition route: over 4 km of stalls and about 240 exhibitors line the streets of Castelmassa, alongside the historic Mostra Mercato Altopolesano di Castelmassa (MAAC), now in its 43rd edition, and the funfair. Art exhibitions, displays of military vehicles from World War II, vintage car and motorcycle rallies, photographic exhibitions, concerts, and DJ sets enrich the calendar.

The Street of Local Flavours

The gastronomic heart of the fair is the Via dei Sapori Locali, where the Pro Loco (local tourist board) and local rice producers offer traditional Polesine dishes: risottos, boiled meats, passatelli in broth, and much more. The Fiera di San Martino di Castelmassa thus combines commerce, culture, entertainment, and gastronomy in one of the most cherished and long-standing events in the Veneto region.

San Martino in Fiera — edition 2026

The 2026 edition is the 208th Fiera Nazionale di San Martino di Castelmassa, expected in November. Following the 207th edition (7-10 November 2025), the fair offers 4 km of stalls, the Altopolesano Market Exhibition (MAAC), the funfair, and the Street of Local Flavours. Details on dates and programme to be defined.

The 208th Fiera Nazionale di San Martino 2026 returns to Castelmassa in November, around the feast day of San Martino (11 November), following the 207th edition held from 7 to 10 November 2025. For 2026, the event's large scale is confirmed: over 4 km of stalls and about 240 exhibitors, the Mostra Mercato Altopolesano (MAAC), the funfair, and the Via dei Sapori Locali with risottos, boiled meats, and passatelli in broth. The detailed programme, including exhibitions, vintage car and motorcycle rallies, and concerts, will be published on the official website.
