Taste, tradition, and community for Legnago's patron saint, around November 11th
The Festa dei Sapori di San Martino is the event that in Legnago, in the province of Verona, celebrates the patron saint Saint Martin, whose feast day is November 11th. It is a multi-day event that combines gastronomy, farming tradition, and religious moments in the heart of the city.
The heart of the festival are the agri-food stands featuring local products, which are the stars of tastings such as the traditional "panin col codeghin" (a bun with pork sausage) and risottos from Legnago's tradition. The event highlights the link between the city and its agricultural hinterland, in collaboration with Coldiretti.
The programme alternates between taste and folklore: the historic Camminata di San Martino (San Martino Walk), the re-enactment of the Carro di San Martino (Saint Martin's Cart), the blessing of agricultural machinery after the Solemn Mass in the Duomo, and the Coldiretti conference. Among the most cherished events is the awarding of the Cavalierato di San Martino (Knightship of Saint Martin) at the Museo Fioroni, an award for local excellence.
The event is promoted by Pro Loco Legnago in collaboration with the Municipality, the ViviLegnago association, and Coldiretti, and represents one of the most important autumn events in the Bassa Veronese region.
The 2026 edition of the Festa dei Sapori di San Martino is expected in Legnago around the feast day of the patron saint on November 11th. The event, in its early editions, will reprise its multi-day format combining gastronomy, farming tradition, and religious moments in the city centre.
The precise dates for 2026 have not yet been officially announced. Based on recent editions, the programme includes the opening of agri-food stands, tastings of local products, the San Martino Walk, the re-enactment of the Carro di San Martino, the blessing of agricultural machinery after Mass in the Duomo, the Coldiretti conference, and the awarding of the Cavalierato di San Martino at the Museo Fioroni. The complete schedule will be released by Pro Loco Legnago.
