The religious and popular festival of August in the hamlet of San Zeno di Castelbaldo
The Festa della Madonna della Neve is the summer festival of the hamlet of San Zeno, in Castelbaldo, a small municipality in the lower Padua area bordering Verona and Polesine. Held annually in the first days of August, it takes its name from the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Snows, which Catholic tradition celebrates on August 5th.
The religious aspect is central: rosaries, solemn Masses, and the traditional procession through the village streets mark the festive days. The popular dimension unfolds around these events, with the inhabited centre transforming for a few days into a festival village open to all ages.
The food stalls, open every evening, offer typical Venetian cuisine dishes: risottos, grilled meats, fried foods, artisanal desserts, and local wine. The programme also includes live music, folk shows, and dancing evenings, a children's area with inflatable games and entertainment, a charity raffle, lotteries, craft markets, and the usual final fireworks display. The festival is organised thanks to the efforts of the Pro Loco and the parish of Castelbaldo, in the province of Padua.
The Festa della Madonna della Neve in San Zeno di Castelbaldo is an annual event held in the first days of August. For 2026, the precise dates have not yet been released, but the festival is recurring and well-established (in 2025 it was held from August 5th to 10th). Based on past editions, the religious moments – rosaries, solemn Masses, and procession – are expected alongside food stalls, live music, dancing evenings, a children's area, a funfair, and the final fireworks display.
Programme coming soon: the detailed schedule and dates for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco and the parish of Castelbaldo in the weeks preceding the festival. The usual structure alternates religious services and procession with food stalls, musical and dancing evenings, a children's area, a funfair, and a final fireworks display.
