The Festival Pergolesi Spontini is one of the most important musical events in the Marche region, organised by the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini and held every summer across the municipalities of the Vallesina, in the province of Ancona. Within its rich programme, the Residart section, dedicated to chamber music, finds its place, and for several editions has chosen the Church of the Aroli in Monsano as its opening venue.
Monsano is a small Municipality in the province of Ancona, nestled in the rolling hills of the Vallesina: a secluded and quiet setting that proves perfect for listening to chamber music. The evocative Church of the Aroli, in the hamlet of the same name, becomes an intimate concert hall for one evening, where the audience can closely appreciate the talent of young performers.
What is Residart
Residart is the first network of artistic residences in the Marche region and was born from the collaboration between the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini, the Residart Festival, and the Orlando European Summer Course for Chamber Music. The project offers musicians under 35, from all over Europe, the opportunity to hone their skills and perform in public: the Monsano concerts are part of a cycle that also includes Monte Roberto, Jesi, and Montecarotto, giving a voice to the winning ensembles of the scholarships and internationally renowned soloists.
An excellent musical experience
The Residart evenings feature programmes ranging from the classical repertoire to late Romantic and 20th-century works, with composers such as Ravel, Debussy, Busoni, and Saint-Saëns. The formula is that of great music tailored for a village: affordable tickets, small venues, and a direct relationship between artists and listeners. It is not uncommon for concerts to sell out well in advance, a sign of the audience's affection for this event.

Residart 2026 in Monsano
The 2026 edition of the Festival Pergolesi Spontini, the XXVI, is titled «Accordi disarmanti» and runs from 18 July to 21 September 2026 with over thirty events spread across the municipalities of the Vallesina (Jesi, Maiolati Spontini, Monsano, Morro d'Alba, Montecarotto, Monte Roberto, Poggio San Marcello, and San Paolo di Jesi).
The Residart section, dedicated to chamber music, is scheduled from 12 to 18 September 2026 with four concerts taking place in the Church of the Aroli in Monsano, at the Gigli Theatre in Monte Roberto, at the Pergolesi Theatre in Jesi, and at the Municipal Theatre in Montecarotto. The performers include the Noema Quartet, pianist Keigo Mukawa, and the ensembles that won the 2026 Scholarship, as part of the collaboration with the Residart Festival and the Orlando European Summer Course.

How to get there
Monsano is easily reached from the Jesi exit of the SS76 dual carriageway (Vallesina), a few kilometres from the A14 Ancona Nord motorway exit. The nearest train station is Jesi, on the Rome-Ancona line.
Tickets
Residart concerts have an affordable entrance fee (around €10 in recent editions, with concessions). Given the limited capacity of the church, advance booking through the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini ticket office is recommended.
