The village festival of July in Galliera Veneta, with food, orchestras, and a funfair
The Festival of Saint Mary Magdalene and Saint James is the grand village festival of Galliera Veneta, a town in the Alta Padovana region of the Padova province. It takes place in July, around the feast days of the two saints (Saint Mary Magdalene on the 22nd and Saint James on the 25th of July), and enlivens the town's festival grounds for several days.
The heart of the festival is the well-stocked gastronomic stand, serving traditional Venetian dishes every evening. Alongside the food, the festival offers a covered youth area with music and a cocktail bar, a large funfair, a charity raffle, and musical entertainment with famous orchestras for ballroom dancing.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Galliera Veneta, part of the Consorzio Pro Loco del Cittadellese, the festival is a traditional event that combines the religious dimension of the patronal feast with the conviviality of a village celebration, attracting families and visitors from the Alta Padovana region every evening.
