The Festival of Saint John the Baptist, known by everyone as the Caldogno Festival, is the patronal festival of the municipality of Caldogno, in the province of Vicenza, a town made famous by Villa Caldogno designed by Andrea Palladio. Organized by the Parish of Saint John the Baptist, it takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September and brings the entire community together in the heart of the town for five evenings.
A taste of Venetian tradition
The heart of the festival is the food stand set up in Piazza del Comune, open every evening: among the specialties are bigoli, fried fish, spit-roasted porchetta, grilled meats, bruschetta, filled sandwiches, and traditional desserts. Over the years, the menu has also featured typical dishes such as trippa alla parmigiana and risotto al ragù.
Music, dancing, and fireworks
The evenings are enlivened by shows, concerts, ballroom and Latin-American dancing on the dance floor, and a youth area with DJ sets and entertainment. There is also a charity raffle, a funfair for the little ones, and the traditional fireworks display that concludes the festival, illuminating the sky of Caldogno.
A community festival
Deeply connected to the parish and the local area, the Caldogno Festival combines the religious dimension of the patronal feast with the conviviality of a village festival, in one of the most beloved events of the Vicenza summer.
Caldogno Festival — edition 2026
The Caldogno Festival will return at the end of August 2026, around the feast of the patron saint John the Baptist (August 29th). As tradition dictates, for five evenings, Piazza del Comune will host the food stand with bigoli, fried food, porchetta, and grilled meats, accompanied by dancing evenings, a youth area with DJ sets, a charity raffle, a funfair, and the usual final fireworks display.

The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Parish of Saint John the Baptist and on the official page of the Caldogno Festival. Based on recent editions, the usual structure includes:
- Evening opening of the food stand (from 7 PM) for five consecutive evenings
- Specialties: bigoli, fried fish, spit-roasted porchetta, grilled meats, bruschetta, and desserts
- Charity raffle (from 7:30 PM)
- Ballroom and Latin-American dancing evenings on the dance floor, concerts, and shows
- Youth area with DJ sets and entertainment
- Funfair for children
- Grand finale with fireworks display

How to get there
Caldogno is located about 8 km north of Vicenza, along the road leading to Thiene. The Vicenza Nord (A4) motorway exit is a few kilometers away; bus connections are available from the provincial capital.
