The Festival of Saint Apollonia is the patronal festival of Viganò, a town in the Lecco Brianza region, in the province of Lecco. It is celebrated on the weekend closest to February 9th, the saint's feast day, and brings the entire community together through moments of faith and popular tradition. The religious heart of the festival is the solemn mass in the parish church, while the town's streets fill with stalls and life.
The Sweet Ravioli with a Secret Recipe
The true star of the festival is the Sweet Ravioli Fair: a traditional fried sweet, with a secret chocolate-based filling, whose recipe has been passed down through generations, from mother to daughter. About a hundred volunteers take turns preparing it, kneading, preparing the filling, and frying the ravioli, which are then sold during the festival days. A collective ritual that has become a symbol of Viganò's identity.

Alongside the religious and gastronomic part, the festival offers all kinds of stalls in the town streets, art exhibitions and creative activities in the municipal gym, and a charity auction for the nursing home. The 2026 edition of Viganò's patronal festival focuses on Sunday, February 8th. The sale of sweet ravioli, the true gourmet heart of the festival, is open from Wednesday, February 4th (from 2:00 PM) until noon on Monday, February 9th, while the festival day combines religious celebration, market, culture, and solidarity.
