Festival of Our Lady of the Meadows of Moscazzano

A festival that has lasted for over forty years

In the Cremasco region, a land of farmhouses and delicious traditions, there is an event that in mid-July draws visitors from all over the area: the Festival of Our Lady of the Meadows in Moscazzano, a small municipality in the Province of Cremona. For over forty years, the event has taken place around the sanctuary of Our Lady of the Meadows, dedicated in 2009 to diocesan families with the title 'Queen of Families'.

Cremaschi Tortelli, the absolute protagonists

The symbolic dish of the festival is the cremasco tortello, the sweet and savory ravioli typical of the region, prepared for months by a team of volunteers and served every evening. Alongside the tortelli, the food stand offers cured meats, first courses, fried meat and fish, salamelle, pork knuckle, and the ever-present homemade cakes; Wednesday is dedicated to small fried fish with polenta. The opening evening, 'La Turtelera in festa', is a charity event whose proceeds support local initiatives.

Faith and Community

Alongside the food, there is the spiritual dimension: throughout the week, Holy Masses are celebrated — on Sundays at 9 and 11 AM — and the Holy Rosary in the late afternoon, accompanied by the organ. Lotteries and charity games complete the program, with a specific goal: to raise funds for the restoration and maintenance of the sanctuary. It is a festival that truly reflects the soul of the Cremasco region, where Marian devotion and home cooking coexist naturally.
