A day at Parco delle Betulle dedicated to parenthood and birth
The Festival of Families and Birth is one of the most anticipated spring events in Novara. Promoted by the Municipality of Novara through the Family Center and the Department of Education and Kindness, in collaboration with the Territory Service Center and numerous local associations, the event turns the greenery of Parco delle Betulle, on Viale Giulio Cesare, into a vast space for play, discovery, and meeting for the whole family.
The event takes place over a single day, from 10 am to 6 pm, with completely free admission. The heart of the festival is a widespread network of creative workshops, multilingual readings, nature-immersed trails, and solidarity activities, distributed throughout the morning and afternoon at stations that remain active all day long.
The program is designed to accompany every age group, from the first sensory discoveries of newborns to the creative challenges of teenagers:
More than just an event, the Festival of Families and Birth is an opportunity to strengthen the social fabric of the capital of the Province of Novara, in the heart of eastern Piedmont. As Councilor for Kindness Giulia Negri points out, the festival "celebrates life, parenthood, and the beauty of growing together," creating safe spaces where children, teenagers, and adults can learn, play, and share precious moments.
A symbolic highlight is the welcome for newborns: the municipal administration greets the families of children born in the previous year with the presentation of the 'Kindness Kits', a gesture of welcome to the community. Alongside activities for families, the day also hosts solidarity initiatives, confirming how the festival unites play, culture, and social commitment into a single shared experience.
The 2026 edition, the eighth of the event, took place on Saturday, May 23, at Parco delle Betulle in Novara, with a backup date set for May 30 in case of bad weather. From 10 am to 6 pm, the park hosted workshops and games for every age group, information sessions for parents, and a large picnic area to spend the day outdoors.
The program confirmed the formula loved by Novara families: a widespread network of creative workshops, multilingual readings, nature trails, and solidarity initiatives, with special attention to the little ones and newborns.
Full program organized by the Family Center of the Municipality of Novara and the Territory Service Center.
