About Barbozza Festival

Spanning June and July, the hamlet of Cerqueto di Gualdo Tadino celebrates its most typical product: barbozza, pork cheek, the undisputed queen of the table alongside grilled meats. Organized by the Pro Loco Cerqueto, the festival opens its food stand every evening from 7:30 PM, accompanying the excellent Umbrian cuisine with dance orchestras and live music nights. A genuine village festival, where conviviality and traditional flavors reign supreme.

The Barbozza Festival of Cerqueto

In the hamlet of Cerqueto di Gualdo Tadino, in the province of Perugia, between the end of June and the beginning of July, the Festival of Barbozza and Grilled Meats takes place annually. It is one of the most beloved gastronomic festivals in the upper Umbria region. The absolute star is the barbozza, pork cheek, a delicious local specialty of the village, accompanied by tasty grilled meats.

Village Cuisine and Live Music

The food stand, managed by the Pro Loco Cerqueto, opens every evening starting at 7:30 PM, offering traditional Umbrian dishes. Each evening is enlivened by dance orchestras and musical groups, with tribute bands dedicated to the great names of Italian music, attracting an audience of all ages.

A Community Tradition

The festival is a fixed event in Gualdo Tadino's summer calendar and represents a moment of strong cohesion for the small community of Cerqueto. For those visiting Umbria during the summer months, it is the perfect opportunity to discover a little-known local flavor and to experience the authentic atmosphere of a village festival, far from the most crowded tourist circuits.
