The Barbozza Festival of Cerqueto
In the hamlet of Cerqueto di Gualdo Tadino, in the province of Perugia, between the end of June and the beginning of July, the Festival of Barbozza and Grilled Meats takes place annually. It is one of the most beloved gastronomic festivals in the upper Umbria region. The absolute star is the barbozza, pork cheek, a delicious local specialty of the village, accompanied by tasty grilled meats.
Village Cuisine and Live Music
The food stand, managed by the Pro Loco Cerqueto, opens every evening starting at 7:30 PM, offering traditional Umbrian dishes. Each evening is enlivened by dance orchestras and musical groups, with tribute bands dedicated to the great names of Italian music, attracting an audience of all ages.

The festival is a fixed event in Gualdo Tadino's summer calendar and represents a moment of strong cohesion for the small community of Cerqueto. The 2026 edition of the Festival of Barbozza and Grilled Meats in Cerqueto di Gualdo Tadino, now in its 18th edition, takes place from June 28 to July 7. The food stand opens every evening starting at 7:30 PM, with barbozza — pork cheek, a local specialty — and grilled meats as the main dishes. Each evening is accompanied by good music and dance orchestras. The organization is handled by the Pro Loco Cerqueto.

How to get there
Cerqueto is a hamlet of Gualdo Tadino (PG), reachable from the SS3 Flaminia. By train, get off at Gualdo Tadino station on the Rome–Ancona line, then continue by car.

Food stand open every evening from 7:30 PM. Free entry; you pay for what you consume at the counter.
