The National Festival of Poetic Theatre, in its first edition, is a tour that crosses Italy with stops in Rome, L'Aquila, Milan, Matera, and Ragusa. The Matera leg brings a language to the City of the Sassi where poetry becomes spectacle, through voice, word, and live music.

In Matera, 'Il Coro delle Poetesse, dei Giullari e delle Sibille' is staged, with the participation of poet Davide Rondoni alongside Paola De Crescenzo, Raffaello Simeoni, Eleonora Iacobone, and Elvio Ceci. The performance works on a plural and choral dimension, where oral tradition meets contemporary writing, and music supports the memory of the narrative.

The Matera event is part of the Fantastico Medioevo Festival program: the choice of Matera for this performance naturally dialogues with an imagined medieval identity and the city's urban heritage. The national tour concludes on October 23rd at the Donnafugata Theatre in Ragusa.
