Festeggiamenti Settembrini

An end-of-summer tradition on the outskirts of Pordenone

In Fontanafredda, a municipality in the plains of the Province of Pordenone, the Festeggiamenti Settembrini represent the popular event with which the community bids farewell to summer and welcomes autumn. The festival unfolds along Via Leonardo da Vinci, in the area managed by the Parrocchia di San Giorgio (Parish of Saint George), and traditionally spans two weekends straddling late August and the first days of September, for a total of several consecutive evenings.

Music, flavours, and fun for all ages

The programme alternates concerts and live music, evenings with DJ sets, the unmissable fairground rides for children, sports tournaments, and a rich gastronomic offering at the stalls run by volunteers. Among the dishes that have made the event famous are the renowned tagliata (sliced grilled steak), alongside Friulian cuisine specialties and traditional desserts. There are also themed evenings, entertainment, and events designed for families.

A community celebration

The heart of the Festeggiamenti Settembrini is its community dimension: the festival is born and grows thanks to the commitment of the parish and dozens of volunteers, who transform the Via Leonardo da Vinci area into a great meeting point for the inhabitants of Fontanafredda and neighbouring towns every year. The informal and family-friendly atmosphere makes this event one of the most cherished on the summer calendar of the Municipality of Fontanafredda.
