A Salento night of pizzica and local flavors at Masseria Marangiosa in Latiano
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Festa in Masseria is one of the most beloved events of the summer in Latiano, located in the province of Brindisi, in the heart of the Messapian Salento. For over thirty years, the event has transformed the Masseria Marangiosa, a historic farmhouse on the road to San Michele Salentino, into a grand open-air stage where folk music, gastronomy, and conviviality merge into one long evening under the stars.
The charm of this festival stems from its venue: an authentic Apulian farmhouse, nestled in the countryside among olive trees and dry-stone walls. It is here, far from the traffic of the town center, that the lights are switched on at dusk each year, stalls are set up, and the courtyard fills with people of all ages. The atmosphere is that of a genuine Salento village festival, where the focus is not on glitz, but on being together.
The beating heart of the evening is Salento folk music. Groups take to the stage to revive the overwhelming energy of the pizzica, the quadrille, and many other traditional dances and songs. The rhythm of the tambourines draws the audience into the dance until late at night, in one of the most iconic expressions of Salento culture.
There is no festival in a farmhouse without good food. Along the path, you will find food stalls with typical local products: traditional peasant dishes, grilled meats, dairy products, sweets, and, of course, the fine wine of the region. An authentic culinary experience that tells the story of the deep bond between the community of Latiano and its land.
The Festa in Masseria is organized by the Pro Loco of Latiano, with the patronage of the Municipal Administration and the GAL Terra dei Messapi. Admission is always free and open to everyone: it is a celebration for an entire community that opens the doors of its countryside to residents and visitors alike. For those wanting to discover the most authentic side of Puglia, far from mass tourism circuits, it is an ideal opportunity to experience an evening of folklore, flavors, and Salento hospitality.
The dates and detailed program for the 2026 edition of the Festa in Masseria in Latiano have not yet been announced by the Pro Loco. Following the custom of recent years, the event should take place at the beginning of August at the Masseria Marangiosa, with the usual evening of Salento folk music, traditional dances, and free-entry food stalls. This page will be updated as soon as the organization releases the official date and program.
