The patron saint festival of the Pearl of Molise
Bagnoli del Trigno, in the province of Isernia, is known as the Pearl of Molise for the picturesque way its houses are nestled among huge rocks and around the castle. On August 20th, the village celebrates its principal patron saint, Saint Vitalis, with the patronal festival.
On the eve, August 19th, the traditional Saint Vitalis fair is held, with stalls and merchandise along the village streets. On the day of the festival, the community gathers for religious rites and a procession in honour of the saint, in an atmosphere of strong popular participation that is part of Bagnoli del Trigno's rich summer calendar.
The 2026 edition of the Festa di San Vitale in Bagnoli del Trigno will take place around August 20th, with the eve's fair on August 19th. The community will gather for religious rites and the procession in honour of the patron saint in the village's historic centre.
The detailed program (mass times, procession, and evening events) will be released by the Municipality and the parish in the preceding days.
Bagnoli del Trigno can be reached by car from the SS650 Trignina; it is about 35 km from Isernia. The festival and fair take place in the historic centre.
Fair on August 19th, patronal festival on August 20th. Free admission.
