The summer review of the native sparkling wine of the Euganean Hills
The Serprino Festival is the major summer event dedicated to Serprino, the native sparkling wine of the Euganean Hills. Promoted by the Consorzio Tutela Vini Colli Euganei DOC (Euganean Hills DOC Wine Protection Consortium), it takes place between June and July with a travelling calendar that visits wineries, Venetian villas, and villages in the area, involving numerous Euganean municipalities including Vo', in the province of Padova.
Serprino is a fresh and light sparkling wine, an expression of the Glera grape variety cultivated on the volcanic slopes of the Euganean Hills. The festival was created to promote and introduce it, accompanying tastings with stories about the territory, its wine history, and the hilly landscape, which is recognised as a Regional Park.
In Vo', the festival unfolds in local wine-producing companies, which offer tastings and opportunities for interaction. Among the events, the Serprino Weekend at the Il Pianzio Winery offers sunset tastings among the vineyards, with the chance to experience Euganean wine immersed in the hilly landscape.
More than just a series of tastings, the Serprino Festival is a journey to discover the wine identity of the Euganean Hills, where each winery and each village adds a piece to the story of a wine and a land that are closely linked.
The Serprino Festival 2026 enlivens the Euganean Hills from June 21 to July 7 with a travelling showcase dedicated to the region's native sparkling wine. Among the stops involving the municipality of Vo', the Il Pianzio Winery hosts the Serprino Weekend on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, with sunset tastings among the rows of Moscato Giallo. The evenings, from 6:30 PM to midnight, offer a glass of Serprino sparkling wine accompanied by cured meats, cheeses, focaccias, and house desserts.
