The feast of the patron saint of Pincara, in the Basso Polesine
In Pincara, a municipality of just over eight hundred inhabitants in the Basso Polesine (province of Rovigo), June 24th is a significant date: it is the feast of St. John the Baptist, the town's patron saint, to whom the parish church is dedicated. The celebration follows the liturgical calendar of the Baptist's nativity and represents one of the moments that mark the community's year.
As in many patron saint festivals in the Veneto region, the day of St. John intertwines the religious dimension, with celebrations in the parish church, and the convivial aspect of the village. It is an event rooted in the local tradition of the Polesine, a land of countryside, embankments, and small agricultural centers along the course of the Po and Adige rivers.
Also in 2026, June 24th will be the day of the Feast of St. John the Baptist, patron saint of Pincara (RO). The celebration revolves around the parish church dedicated to the Baptist, with liturgical celebrations and moments of community festivity.
Program to be announced. The patron saint festival traditionally includes religious celebrations in honor of St. John the Baptist and festivities organized by the parish and the community of Pincara. Details will be communicated locally in the weeks preceding the event.
Pincara is located in the Polesine area, a short distance from Rovigo, reachable by car via the local provincial roads. The festival takes place around the church of St. John the Baptist.
