In Rovigo, twelve days of historical memory, music, cinema, and civic reflection around June 2nd
The Festa della Repubblica e delle Associazioni is an event in Rovigo celebrating the national holiday of June 2nd with a twelve-day program. Organized by the Circolo Culturale Arci 2 Giugno 1946 APS with the patronage of the Municipality, it highlights the participation of local associations from the Polesine area.
The festival combines historical memory, cultural exploration, and civic reflection: exhibitions, conferences on topics such as the founding mothers and women's suffrage, talks with speakers, and debate sessions. It also includes popular and convivial elements with live music, DJ sets, film screenings, and street food.
The heart of the festival is the official ceremony on June 2nd in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, accompanied by the Banda Città di Rovigo, followed by a day dedicated to associations and a concert. Events primarily take place in Piazza Tien An Men and the Sala Galileo Cavazzini, but also involve other squares in the city center, making the festival a community gathering that connects institutions and citizens.
The 2026 edition, from June 1st to 12th, celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic. The program blends historical memory, culture, and celebration: exhibitions, conferences (including those dedicated to the founding mothers and women's suffrage), live music and DJ sets, film screenings — featuring films by Paola Cortellesi and Ettore Scola — and street food, with food from Arrostimood Street Food and beer from the Vojo brewery. The opening evening on June 1st kicks off the festival; on June 2nd, Republic Day, there will be a showcase of associations and a concert. Among the guests, on June 4th, philosopher Roberta De Monticelli; on June 10th, a tribute to Giacomo Matteotti with a documentary and a ceremony.
