The Great Arts in Ancient Places

Devota & Affettuosa is a cultural review dedicated to ancient and classical music that brings concerts to the ancient places of the Camaldolese Abbey of Santa Maria delle Carceri and the Bassa Padovana. The initiative was born with the aim of rediscovering and enhancing the historical-artistic heritage of the territory, particularly the Abbey of Carceri, in the municipality of Santa Caterina d'Este (province of Padua).

Baroque and Classical Music

The program features concerts of Baroque and classical music performed in churches, abbeys, and historic residences in the area. Among the events of the cycle, "La musica della Passione" is held in Vighizzolo (a hamlet of Santa Caterina d'Este) on March 21, 2026, during Lent, with a program dedicated to the theme of the Passion.

A Cycle Spread Across the Territory

The 2026 review is divided into several concerts between March and June, covering Carceri, Vighizzolo, Este, and nearby locations, with programs ranging from Bach's harpsichord music to Baroque cantatas, from The Four Seasons to "Baroque Splendors". All concerts have free admission until seats are filled, in a project that links great music to the heritage of the Bassa Padovana.
