The Festa della Musica in Misterbianco

Every year, coinciding with the summer solstice, the Municipality of Misterbianco joins the Festa della Musica, the major national event that fills Italy's streets, squares, and parks with free, open-air concerts on June 21st. Located in the heart of the Etna area, in the province of Catania, this Sicilian town offers a widespread program that spans some of the most iconic urban spaces, from Piazza Mazzini and Piazza Pertini to the charming Cloister of the 'Concetto Marchesi' Municipal Library.

A week of widespread music

The Misterbianco edition is not limited to June 21st alone, but expands into a full week of music. The common thread is the deep bond between sound and territory, between the identity of the locations and the creativity of the many local musical groups. The absolute stars are the Sicilian brass bands, a tradition deeply rooted in the island's towns and linked to civic festivals, processions, and community gatherings.

The program

• Brass band gathering in Piazza Pertini, with Sicilian bands kicking off the festival.
• Street piano, free performances spread across three city locations: Piazza Mazzini, Piazza Giovanni XXIII, and the Municipal Library Cloister.
• Performance by the 'Lorenzo Perosi' Polyphonic Choir in the setting of the Library Cloister.
• Symphonic concert dedicated to Ennio Morricone, featuring some of the Maestro's most famous soundtracks, at the Via San Rocco Vecchio Amphitheatre.
• Musical event by the Tuccio Mirulla APS Musical Association at the Nelson Mandela Auditorium.
• Closing busking between Piazza Mazzini and Via Gramsci, with musicians enlivening the town center streets.

An event for everyone

The Misterbianco Festa della Musica is a free, popular event designed to involve the entire community: families, enthusiasts, and curious visitors can move freely from one square to another, discovering different genres and ensembles. The presence of choirs and bands gives voice to an image of Italy that, by uniting many different voices, creates harmony: this is precisely the spirit of the 2026 national theme, 'The Voice of the Places'.
