In Laveno-Mombello, in the Province of Varese, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, the Festa della Musica celebrates the arrival of summer with a weekend entirely dedicated to live sounds. The event, organized by the Pro Loco Laveno Mombello Cerro, involves both Laveno and the hamlet of Cerro, transforming them into a large open-air stage.
From the big concert to the widespread festival
The festival opens on Saturday with a major concert in the piazza, which inaugurates the musical weekend. On Sunday, the format changes and becomes itinerant: dozens of artists perform simultaneously along the lakefront, in the historic center, and in the villages, allowing the public to move freely to discover different genres and atmospheres. Previous editions have counted over 30 events in a single day.
Music, lake, and conviviality
The convivial heart of the festival is Piazza Caduti del Lavoro, where the Pro Loco sets up a food stand overlooking the lake, creating a meeting point between performances. The natural setting of Lake Maggiore enhances the charm of an event that combines music, landscape, and social interaction.

The Festa della Musica is free and open to everyone, and each year it invites musicians, bands, and artists to apply to perform. It is one of the most anticipated events at the beginning of summer on Lake Maggiore, capable of attracting residents and tourists to the Lombardy Region.

On June 20 and 21, 2026, Laveno-Mombello and Cerro will celebrate the arrival of summer with the Festa della Musica. Saturday 20, a grand concert in the piazza kicks off the musical weekend.
On Sunday 21, the festival becomes itinerant: dozens of artists perform simultaneously along the lakefront, in the historic center, and in the villages, inviting the public to stroll and discover different genres. The Pro Loco Laveno Mombello Cerro will liven up Piazza Caduti del Lavoro with its food stand overlooking the lake.

How to get there
Laveno-Mombello is located on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore, in the Province of Varese. It can be reached by car from the SS629; it is connected to Milan and Varese by train lines and to Intra by ferry. The events take place along the lakefront, in the center, and in the hamlet of Cerro.
