Summer begins with cherries

Arte, Ciliegie e Musica is the event with which the Pro Loco of Cuvio kicks off summer in Valcuvia, in the province of Varese. The event, held in the Municipal Park, gets its name from its three ingredients: art and craftsmanship, seasonal cherries, and live music. A simple and tested formula, capable of transforming a weekend at the start of summer into a celebration for the entire community.

Art and craftsmanship

The protagonists of the weekend are local hobbyists, artisans, and artists, who exhibit and showcase their creations throughout the festival areas. It's an opportunity to discover the talent of the region, with works of art, handicrafts, and ingenious objects, in an informal and welcoming atmosphere.

Cherries and music

You can't miss the cherries, the fruit symbol of the season, which are the stars of tastings and gastronomic moments. Providing the soundtrack for the evenings is live music with an orchestra, which enlivens the Municipal Park and invites you to stay until late. The festival, with free admission, is the first major event on the Pro Loco of Cuvio's summer calendar.

The heart of Valcuvia

Cuvio is one of the most characteristic municipalities in Valcuvia, a pre-Alpine valley that rises from Varese towards Lake Maggiore and the mountains of the Varesotto region. The local Pro Loco is particularly active and, throughout the year, offers a busy calendar of initiatives — from the Carnival in the Valley to the Summer Trio — of which Arte, Ciliegie e Musica represents the opening of the warm season. Participating also means discovering a territory made of villages, trails, and traditions, in a corner of the province of Varese that is still authentic and human-sized.
