About Festa della Ciliegia Durona
The symbolic cherry of Chiampo
In Chiampo, in the province of Vicenza, the Durona is much more than a cherry: it is the identity product of the valley, recognized as De.Co. (Denominazione Comunale - Municipal Designation). Every year, between late May and June, the Festa della Ciliegia Durona celebrates this fruit with an event that draws visitors from all over the Vicenza area, with its heart in Piazza Giacomo Zanella.
Tastings, market, and gastronomy
The program combines tastings of the Durona, a producers' market, a food stand, and moments dedicated to the local culture. There are also spectacular initiatives, such as the preparation of a giant crostata (tart), and artisan stalls that liven up the town center.
Sport and entertainment
The festival also embraces sports with the Durona Bike, a mountain bike race that winds through the hills of the Chiampo Valley, and offers music, animation, and entertainment for all ages. A complete sagra, among the longest-running in the Veneto region, which combines agricultural promotion, gastronomy, culture, and sport. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Chiampo together with the Municipality of Chiampo.

The 65th Festa della Ciliegia Durona returns to Chiampo in June 2026 in Piazza Giacomo Zanella, with tastings, a producers' market, a food stand, sports, and music dedicated to the Durona De.Co. cherry.

The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be released by the Pro Loco Chiampo and the Municipality in the weeks preceding the festival. Confirmed preview: the Durona Bike kicked off the calendar with its 9th edition on May 24, 2026 (62 km Marathon and 40 km Classic routes in the Chiampo Valley).

Chiampo can be reached by car from the SP31 starting from the Montecchio Maggiore (A4) motorway exit. The main events take place in Piazza Giacomo Zanella.
