The patronal festival of Cornaredo with the historic Agro-Zootechnical Fair
The Festa del Paese di SS. Giacomo e Filippo is the patronal festival of Cornaredo, in the Province of Milan. Dedicated to the two patron saints โ St. James the Great and St. Philip โ it is one of the most deeply rooted events in the religious and civil life of this municipality on the outskirts of the Lombard capital.
The festival doesn't end in a single day: a series of events unfolds from the week before to the week after the first Sunday in September, with a crescendo of religious, cultural, and recreational activities. Fairground rides liven up the park for about two weeks, while the highlight is the patronal weekend, which concludes with the traditional fireworks.
Sunday is dedicated to the Fiera in Festa, with stalls along the town's streets and Milanese cabaret shows. Monday, however, is the day of the historic Fiera Agrozootecnica in Via Martiri di Belfiore: an exhibition of farmyard and livestock animals that keeps alive the rural memory of the area, once the agricultural heart of the Milanese plain.
With its religious celebrations, solemn procession, and numerous initiatives for families, the Festa del Paese is the time when Cornaredo comes together around its identity. A balance between the sacred and the profane, between its agricultural past and festive fun, makes it one of the most cherished patronal festivals in the Milan area.
The 2026 edition of the Festa del Paese di Cornaredo will be held around the first Sunday of September, with a series of events from the week before to the week after. The program confirms the traditional format: Fiera in Festa on Sunday, Fiera Agrozootecnica on Monday, fairground rides in the park, and concluding fireworks. The precise dates will be confirmed by the Municipality in the weeks prior.
The patronal festival traditionally includes:
The Fiera Agrozootecnica and the concluding fireworks.
