The festival of the ancient village, at the western edge of Milan
Figino is an ancient village on the western edge of Milan (Municipality 7), a sort of town absorbed into the metropolis that has retained its community identity. The Notte Bianca, or Festival of the Ancient Village, is the moment when this identity is told: a festival born and grown from the ground up, animated by the residents.
The event takes place between two symbolic locations: the large pedestrian square of Borgo Sostenibile and the old part of via Zanzottera, with extensions into via Morelli. The program combines theatrical performances, Renaissance and Latin American dances, concerts, musical performances, activities for children, craft stalls, tastings, and street food. Among the offerings are also guided tours of the fifteenth-century Casa Brivio, an example of the village's fortified architecture.
The event is promoted by the Nuovo Comitato di Quartiere Figino in collaboration with the association Le Compagnie Malviste, dedicated to urban and personal regeneration through art in public spaces. The result is a festival with "human tempos", far from the consumerist frenzy of traditional fairs, which enhances the sense of community of one of the most characteristic neighborhoods of the Metropolitan City of Milan.
The Notte Bianca di Figino returns in 2026 to liven up the ancient village at the western edge of Milan. The Nuovo Comitato di Quartiere Figino, with Le Compagnie Malviste, is bringing back the festival with the usual program of performances, dances, music, stalls, and street food between Borgo Sostenibile and via Zanzottera.
The date and detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the organizers. According to the pattern of recent editions, the festival runs from afternoon until late evening with: theatrical and children's shows; Renaissance, Latin American, and artistic dances; concerts and musical performances; craft stalls, tastings, and street food; guided tours of the village's historic sites such as Casa Brivio.
