Three days of celebration with the Palio dei Rioni
The patron saints of Garbagnate Milanese, in the metropolitan area of Milan, are Saints Eusebius and Maccabeus, whose liturgical feast day is August 4th. However, the civil celebration takes place in September, when for three days the city transforms into a large social space with dozens of events spread across numerous locations.
The heart of the festival is the Palio dei Rioni, a competition that pits the city's districts against each other: Garbagnate Centro, Santa Maria Rossa, Quadrifoglio, and Bariana. Bocce tournaments, foosball, ping-pong, card games (scopa), treasure hunts, and traditional games involve the residents of Garbagnate in a challenge that fosters a sense of belonging.
The patronal festival program is rich and varied: from the "Big Comedy Ring Show" with comedians from Zelig and Colorado to the evening fireworks display, from fashion shows to activities for children, and concerts by youth wind orchestras. A program that blends religious tradition with popular entertainment.
Organized by the Municipality of Garbagnate Milanese, the patronal festival is one of the most important events in the city's calendar. With free admission, it brings together associations, districts, and citizens for a weekend that celebrates the community's identity in the northwestern hinterland of Milan.
The 2026 Festa Patronale of Garbagnate Milanese (MI) will be held in September, continuing the tradition of previous editions (September 19-21 in 2025). The program centers around the Palio dei Rioni, the competition between Garbagnate Centro, Santa Maria Rossa, Quadrifoglio, and Bariana, and offers comedy shows, fireworks, fashion shows, exhibitions, and concerts. The exact dates and detailed program will be published by the Municipality in the preceding months.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Municipality of Garbagnate Milanese. Usual festival structure (three days, September):
