Gnocchi take centre stage in Arsiero
In the heart of summer, the Festa del Gnoco de Patata is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events in Arsiero, in the province of Vicenza, in the Alto Astico valley. Now with almost thirty years of history and organized by the Pro Loco Arsiero (local association), the festival is dedicated to a signature dish of Venetian mountain cuisine: handmade potato gnocchi.
The traditional menu
The potato gnocchi, handmade by volunteers, are served with various sauces – from the classic ragù to tomato, to the delicate butter and sage. The menu is completed with mixed grills and cod with polenta, another great classic of Vicenza cuisine. The food stands open from 7:00 PM, with music accompanying every evening.
At the Palazzetto dello Sport
The festival takes place at the Palazzetto dello Sport (sports hall) in Arsiero, on Via Nazioni Unite, a covered venue that ensures the event happens regardless of the weather. As part of the August Arsierese calendar, the Festa del Gnoco de Patata attracts visitors from all over the Alto Vicentino area, drawn by the authentic taste and the convivial atmosphere typical of village festivals.

The 27th edition of the Festa del Gnoco de Patata will be held in August 2026 at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Arsiero, as part of the Agosto Arsierese. The traditional menu is confirmed: handmade potato gnocchi with various sauces, mixed grills, and cod with polenta. Stands open from 7:00 PM and music every evening.
