Two evenings of music, crafts, and traditions in the historic center of Montelupo Fiorentino
The Festa del Borgo is a local festival that lights up the historic center of Montelupo Fiorentino—a town in the province of Florence famous throughout Tuscany for its ancient ceramic tradition—during the evenings of June. For two nights, the town's squares and streets turn into a single, large open-air stage where music, craftsmanship, games, and local flavors blend in a festive atmosphere.
The event is conceived and organized by Il Borgo degli Arlecchini, an association bringing together shopkeepers and businesses in the center of Montelupo Fiorentino. More than forty local entities—workshops, retail stores, sponsors, and volunteers—have joined forces to restore vitality and social life to the heart of the town. Self-funded by the merchants themselves and dozens of local companies, the event was created as a new summer appointment following the rescheduling of the historic Ceramics Festival to the Christmas season.
The program is spread across several squares and corners of the town. The main stage in Piazza della LibertĂ hosts concerts, dance and music school performances, and DJ sets until late at night. At the Fontana zona Barca, live music duos and bands perform, while Piazza Salvo D'Acquisto features traditional games, bingo, and a raffle with prizes offered by local shopkeepers. Along Via XX Settembre, the craft market curated by the CNA offers a chance to discover and experience the work of local artisans firsthand.
A tribute to Montelupo's roots could not be missing: in Piazza Centi, within the Colorobbia area, a free clay modeling workshop is held for children. It is a way to introduce the youngest to the ceramic art that has defined the town for centuries and made it a landmark of Tuscan craftsmanship.
With free admission, the Festa del Borgo is designed for families, residents, and visitors alike. Between street food, music, and markets, it is the ideal occasion to experience the historic center of Montelupo Fiorentino in a festive mood, while discovering the charm of one of the most characteristic villages in the Empolese Valdelsa area.
The second edition of the Festa del Borgo was held on June 13 and 14, 2026, enlivening the historic center of Montelupo Fiorentino for two evenings from 5:30 PM to midnight. Building on the success of its debut, the festival confirmed its widespread format across multiple squares, featuring music, crafts, games, and the essential tribute to local ceramics.
The event, with free admission, was organized by the shopkeepers of Il Borgo degli Arlecchini with the patronage of the Municipality of Montelupo Fiorentino and the support of over thirty local businesses and companies.
