Federico Ferrari Memorial - AVIS Charity Bike Ride

A bike ride in the name of solidarity

The Federico Ferrari Memorial is the cycling event that gathers enthusiasts and blood donation supporters every year in Pontecurone, a small town in the Province of Alessandria, in the heart of the Tortonese (Derthona) area. Organized by the AVIS of Pontecurone, the event is a non-competitive eco-friendly bike ride: no stopwatches, no rankings, just the pleasure of cycling together along a 20 km loop through the countryside and villages of the Piedmontese plains.

Sport, memory, and conviviality

The event blends three elements: the sporting aspect, with a route accessible to anyone who can ride a bike; the commemorative aspect, as the ride is dedicated to Federico Ferrari; and the social aspect, which has always characterized the initiatives of the Pontecurone AVIS. As the organizers remind us, the association has spent years "organizing parties and events for young and old without ever losing sight of the main goal: donating blood to save a life."

How the day unfolds

Meeting and registration take place in the morning at the AVIS headquarters courtyard at Via Emilia 141, which serves as the starting point. A pleasant breakfast stop is scheduled at the halfway point, while the day concludes with a group lunch in the same courtyard, the highlight of the social portion of the event.

Thanks to its non-competitive nature and manageable length, the Federico Ferrari Memorial is particularly suitable for families and children, with reduced registration fees for the little ones.
