The Hamlet's Feast

The Feast of Saint Petronilla is the patronal feast of Savorgnano, a hamlet in the Municipality of San Vito al Tagliamento, in the province of Pordenone. It takes place at the end of May, around the saint's feast day, and celebrates Saint Petronilla, the patron saint of the village to whom the historic village church is also dedicated.

It is one of those rural feasts where the religious and popular dimensions naturally intertwine: alongside the religious services in honor of the patron saint are the food stalls, music, and gathering moments that liven up the small community for a few days.

Traditional Cuisine

The absolute protagonist is Friulian cuisine, served at the feast's stalls. Among the most requested specialties are the pie, snails, ribs, sausages, and grilled chicken, accompanied by a well-stocked wine bar with local wines. Simple and genuine dishes, expressions of a still-vibrant peasant tradition.

One of the village's treasures is precisely the Church of Saint Petronilla, a small gem of art and devotion that during the feast becomes a destination for guided tours, curated over the years also by the FAI - Gruppo di San Vito al Tagliamento.
