Evenings of emerging music and grassroots fundraising at B-Folk, between Centocelle and Alessandrino
The Roman edition of the Fatti Sentire Festival is not your typical summer concert series; it is something rarer in the Roman landscape: a continuous emerging music showcase built from the ground up, hosted by the B-Folk community space on Via dei Faggi, in the Centocelle and Alessandrino district. The evenings take place throughout the year, each featuring two or three acts—mostly bands and singer-songwriters from the Lazio scene who do not yet have formal record distribution.
The event is organized by the Dateci Una Mano collective in collaboration with B-Folk, an entity linked to the Casa del Popolo Roma Sud-Est circuit. It follows the classic model of Roman cultural associations: entry requires an Asso.N.A.M. membership card and a small contribution. Rather than going to a box office, the proceeds fund the Dacce 'na Mano Music Festival, the group's flagship event. Every evening is thus both a concert and a fundraising effort: attendees know their ticket directly supports the city's independent music scene.
The artistic direction is intentionally eclectic and embraces bold contrasts. On the same night, you might hear a heavy band—sludge, punk, doom, with direct protest lyrics—followed immediately by an acoustic singer-songwriter. This is a deliberate choice: to bring together audiences that rarely meet and to provide a platform for artists with original repertoires but few live performance opportunities. Those familiar with the Roman scene will recognize many faces from other self-managed spaces in the capital.
B-Folk is a neighborhood venue, not a concert hall: it has a limited capacity, a low stage, and the audience is just a step away from the musicians. Evenings usually start around 9:00 PM and wrap up by 11:00 PM, with socializing continuing at the tables. It is an atmosphere that will appeal to those looking for the vibrant Roman suburbs rather than the tourist circuits of the historic center. In recent years, Centocelle and Alessandrino have become some of the most interesting hubs for the city's independent nightlife, and this festival is one of its most consistent expressions.
The name Fatti Sentire also exists in Italy as a national competition for emerging music, with selections held in several regions, including Lazio. However, the B-Folk series remains an autonomous Roman event, deeply rooted in its neighborhood and audience, and is best found through the organizers' channels rather than major ticketing portals. In the Lazio region, it represents a widespread model: small community spaces that, without significant budgets, guarantee emerging bands the one thing they lack most: a stage and a night of their own.
The fifth volume of the 2026 series took place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at B-Folk, in the district between Centocelle and Alessandrino, Rome. Two projects were on stage: Hellcabron, already guests of the festival in the spring, with their blend of sludge, punk, horror, and doom with direct protest lyrics, and Paolo (Pablo Whites), a singer-songwriter "half Roman and half Sabino," performing his own original songs.
The evening was part of the fundraising path for the Dacce 'na Mano Music Festival 2026: entry required an Asso.N.A.M. membership card and a contribution, both symbolic. That same year, the festival had already hosted other events at B-Folk, including the "Speciale Liberazione" volume on April 25, 2026.
