The Fat Thursday Concert is the event with which the Walter Gropius State High School celebrates Carnival through music, highlighting the journey of its music program.

The concert is part of OpenGropius, the orientation and city outreach project through which the school communicates its vocation as a place where art becomes experience, language, and shared growth. The event is part of the broader 2026 Potenza Carnival program, "La Maschera & le Maschere" (The Mask & the Masks), alongside the exhibition "Arte Carnevale" (Carnival Art) at the Civic Gallery and the dance performance "Un Ballo in Maschera" (A Masked Ball) at the Francesco Stabile Theatre.

The Gropius Carnival program intertwines the school's three pathways—artistic, dance, and music—which collaborate to celebrate Potenza's Carnival traditions with contemporary interpretations.
